Week #21 - February 1

Happy Friday to you all-

I hope this finds you well attempting to stay warm.  Thankfully we don’t live in the Midwest! We have so many things happening right now, I hope you have been checking the calendar.

If you have a sweet tooth, please find a color guard or percussion member as they are currently selling SEE’S Candies.  They have to turn everything in by Tuesday so there is still time to get your orders and money in.

Festivaseason is quickly approaching.  Please ask your musician to perform their music for you.  This is the equivalent of our state testing for musicians.  More information about dates and times can be found on the calendar.  Click the event and times are listed.

Charms:
We are moving to a new system.  Attached you will find directions on how to log into the new Charms system. Through this system we will be able to communicate to you with great easy (email, texting, reminds, etc.) as well as use this for our volunteer sign-ups.

I am asking that ALL students make sure that they login, create a new password, update their information and add all parents/guardian’s information to their account.

There is also an app that is downloadable for use once you create your account.

Please make sure that this is done before Wednesday as I would like to move forward with using this system next week.

From the fundraising company:
Remember, this first round of emails does not target donors but only goes to students, so you'll want to make sure the students work with their parents to add as many contacts as possible - we recommend at least 10They should enter the email addresses of everyone that they, the students, want to contact directly (aunts, uncles, older siblings, employers, etc. - even people whom their parents might want to add but who know the student personally) Contacts entered by the student will get email requests for donations from the student. New contacts entered by anyone other than a student using their personal login will receive a donation request from the person that entered their name, not the student. It may help the kids if they understand this point!

Night on Broadway:
Returning this year is Murrieta Mesa Performing Arts - Night on Broadway.  This year it will feature: Drama, Dance, Choir, and Wind Ensemble I.  Tickets to this event will be available for purchase at the door only, $5.  Box office opens at 5, doors will open at 5:30, and the show will start at 6pm.  I hope you will come enjoy some of the talent that Mesa Performing Arts has to offer on Friday, February 8th.

Fundraiser:

Parent information Night:
Once again, we will be holding our 2019-2020 parent meeting.  This is primarily for incoming parents, but you are always welcome to come hear about our program and opportunities for next year.  This will take place on Thursday, February 7th at 6pm in the band room.

Since I know this question will come up, NO…I will not be unveiling next years marching band show at the meeting.  That comes later at the Marching Band Kick-off meeting. Sorry.
